About Me
Hello--
My name is Misha (AKA Comic Goblin on most socials).I am a writer and artist based in Portland, OR. Currently, I am an assistant editor at Dark Horse Comics. I have worked independently in various creative fields for the past several years, mainly in writing and visual art, as well as editing, graphic design, publishing, and video production.I hold a BFA in Creative Writing and Comic Studies from Portland State University. When I'm not working on my various projects, I enjoy gardening, TTRPGs, Renaissance Fairs, and riding horses. I hope to someday run a ranch for horse rescue.
My Work
My focuses are on writing and visual art, though I dabble in various creative fields.My writing ranges, but my primary focus is genre fiction. I write cross-genre fantasy, sci-fi, and horror, for both prose and comics. My stories frequently feature queer stories.In visual arts I work both digitally (Procreate and Clip Studio Paint) and traditionally (ink, marker, gauche, etch). My focus areas are character design, illustration, and comic art.My current projects include a several manuscripts and comics in various stages of completion, some of which are listed below.
WRITING
The Sound of the End Novel (Querying) – Sci-fi Apocalypse / Horror with queer slow-burn romance.
Peter Pan Novella (Work-in-progress) – Illustrated novella inspired by Peter Pan. Written and illustrated by Misha Gehr. Launching on Patreon in 2025.
COMICS
Ain’t No End (Work-in-Progress) – One-shot sci-fi apocalypse / horror. Precursor to The Sound of the End. Written and illustrated by Misha Gehr. Available 2025.
In addition to my personal projects, I do freelance illustration, writing, and editing (copy and developmental) on a limited basis. I particularly enjoy editorial work because I'm detail oriented and I have a passion for helping people bring their projects to life.My work is also available on RedBubble, Inprnt, Gumroad (coming soon!).
